Orkus! movie tip: “The Strangers – Chapter 1”

A road trip lasting several days takes the couple Ryan (Froy Gutierrez) and Maya (Madelaine Petsch) to a small town in the middle of nowhere. But after they stop there briefly, the car won’t start and they are forced to spend the night in a hunting lodge in the middle of the forest. They soon hear strange noises and a girl knocks on their door. When Ryan has to go back to the town to get some medicine, Maya is attacked by three masked men … In this reboot of the home invasion highlight ‘The Strangers’ from 2008, director Renny Harlin quickly gets down to business. After a brief scary phase, the merciless chases and nasty scenes of violence begin. The terrifying atmosphere is carried by the three masked killers who seemingly appear out of nowhere time and again. And as the film is designed as a series opener, fans can already look forward to more horror from the “Strangers” world.
