Will IN EXTREMO remain the kings of medieval rock?

The year 2024 has already been very eventful for In Extremo. At the time of our six-page interview – which you can read in the fall issue – they are still in the middle of the festival season, have an extensive South American tour behind them and have somehow managed to finish the new album “Wolkenschieber” (release date: September 13, 2024). But after the release, Micha Rhein will “throw my suitcase in the corner and just sit down somewhere for a month”, he laughs. We talk about high-proof drinks with sugar, soulful songs that bring tears to our eyes and guest musicians with handshake qualities. – And, of course, about every single song. Including the wonderful collaboration in which Oliver Satyr from Faun plays the nyckelharpa, “Feine Seele”:
