FALCO – “The Inspector” was released 42 years ago today. Do you know these 5 facts?

Falco’s single “Der Kommissar” was released 42 years ago today on December 11, 1982. Did you already know these 5 facts?
★ After Falco played the piano in a small role in “Kottan ermittelt”, he came up with the idea for the lyrics to “Der Kommissar”.
★ The music comes from producer Robert Ponger, who also produced Falco’salbums “Einzelhaft” and “Junge Römer”.
★ Falco had reservations about releasing “Der Kommissar” as the A-side because he saw similarities between the melody hookline and that of the bass in “Super Freak” (Rick James).
★ In the eighties, you were still allowed to smoke (almost) everywhere. And that was cool. So it’s not surprising that Falco is shown smoking in the video clip for “Der Kommissar” with a confident naturalness.
★ The single reached number 1 in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and Japan.
