It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since Bat for Lashes released their album “Fur and Gold”. London-based artist Natasha Khan is taking this special anniversary as an opportunity for a re-release. It still holds a “very special place in my heart”, she explains and continues: “When I listened to the album again recently with my producer David Kosten, I was very moved – no compromises, lots of space, weird MIDI sounds, ironic lyrics, thunder and lightning, girl-group choruses, heartbreak and magic … This was the record I’d been waiting for my whole life. And I think it still holds up. I hope more people immerse themselves in this universe.”

A remastered version of Bat for Lashes‘ debut album will be released on February 6, 2026. None other than Frank Arkwright ( New Order, Johnny Marr, among others) took care of it at the legendary Abbey Road Studios – in addition to the original songs, it also includes previously unreleased demos from 2005/06 as well as live recordings from the BBC Live Lounge and sessions with Rob Da Bank.
