Delicate melancholy hovers over “Gloomtown Radio”. In their new album, Mystigma sing of melancholy in a gray, doomed world. Or has it long since turned to ashes? As usual, the quartet scores with thoughtful, German-language lyrics clothed in rousing dark/gothic rock. Of course, the title track “Gloomtown Radio” proves to be particularly epic, with a beat that involuntarily manifests itself in footwork. Things get tougher in “Triumph in Black” and “Daimonion”. “Sündikat” is not only a successful play on words, but another highlight. But it would probably be necessary to list every single track here, because all ten songs on “Gloomtown Radio” are an enjoyable, dark listening experience.
