AESTHETIC PERFECTION: On Stage

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

21.11.2023, Hanover Musikzentrum
Support: Alienare

For some it’s just another Tuesday evening, for others it’s one of the best evenings in a long time. As part of the Lindemann tour, which Daniel Graves had accompanied with Aesthetic Perfection, a free evening was filled with headlining shows from the “Winter Goth” tour. Tonight at the Hanover Musikzentrum was one such event.

Alienare had been brought in as support, who were playing a kind of home game here. Even though it was only announced shortly beforehand that the dynamic duo would be opening the evening, some very confident visitors had secured the coveted seats in the front row. The energetic set started five minutes ahead of time and Alienare effortlessly managed to involve the audience in their participatory actions and ultimately leave them enthusiastic.

At a concert during the week, time seems to pass faster than at weekends, so the changeover break was over extra quickly and Aesthetic Perfection started their “Winter Goth” show. A special setlist and line-up were announced in advance. As Joe and Constance were performing with the main band on the Lindemann tour, Daniel Graves had taken a well-known replacement on the tour in the form of Mike on drums (who had already proven his skills for the band in 2022) and a previously unknown replacement in the form of Lore on guitar and keys. While they had to limit themselves to very few songs and 20 minutes playing time at the support shows, today they had just over an hour and correspondingly many songs in their luggage. From “S.E.X.” to “Love Like Lies” and the new song “Toxic” – the setlist left hardly anything to be desired. When Daniel asked his drummer in German if Hanover was ready for a classic, the audience took it upon themselves to answer, whereupon they continued with “Never Enough”. The time flew by and after the show both bands were seen signing autographs at the merch and posing for photos.

A successful evening, in which the knowledge that most people would have to get up early again tomorrow morning could not stop the mood from boiling over.
