Animaux Formidables create a wild mixture of the boundless licentiousness of a seventies David Bowie and a nevertheless modern, all genres bursting touch à la Arctic Monkeys in their debut album. The honest hardness and unused freshness of the sound can certainly be explained by the recording situation: Each song was recorded live in the studio in just one take.
