ARCHIVE: “… heavy rhythms and a melancholy that pierces the soul”

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Archive’s new album “Glass Minds”, which will be released on February 27, 2026, marks the continuous development of the band’s 30-year history. The album is characterized by minimalist but highly emotional soundscapes that you would love to immerse yourself in and sink into. Mastermind Darius Keeler explains: “The album came about after we had composed the song ‘Patterns’. We loved the space and minimalist power of the song, it reminded us of our debut album ‘Londinium’ and how we approached songwriting back then – with heavy rhythms and a melancholy that permeates the soul. When we started writing the new album, I was listening to a lot of Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’ and wanted to use brass instruments as an extra dimension to give the songs even more emotion. Our last album ‘Call to Arms & Angels’ was quite a heavy album looking back due to the whole Covid experience. This album feels like we’re moving into a more expansive and uplifting dimension.” In our next issue we talk to Archive.
