ARÐ: Metal with historical influence?

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Both Arð albums are concept albums. They revolve around the kingdom of Northumbria, which existed from 605 to 867 in the north of what is now England. Arð means “homeland” in the Northumbrian dialect and is pronounced as “Arth”. Since its origins, metal has also referred to historical events such as wars, historical battles or the traditions of the Vikings, among other topics. Mastermind Mark Deeks explains in our May/June issue how this was an important source of inspiration for the new album “Untouched by Fire”.
