COVENANT: In memory of Andreas Catjar-Danielsson

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

A year ago, Covenant keyboardist and guitarist Andreas(Abu Nein, Souls) succumbed to cancer. In his memory, Covenant are releasing a limited edition vinyl EP with five songs on October 17th: “Andreas EP” The Dependent/SPKR label covered the production costs so that all proceeds (including those from the digital release) will benefit Andreas’ sons Andrej and Ivo.

Musically, “Andreas EP” inspires with the previously unreleased cover version of the Yazoo song“Winter Kills”. It was his favorite song of the band. Andreas himself said: “It’s simply magical. How do you make something so minimalist sound so bombastic? Like Eric Satie. And although the piano (and of course Alison’s voice) is the dominant instrument, it still sounds very synthetic. As if the cold wind of winter, loss and longing were hidden in the space between the notes. Or compressed in the wonder of a single drumbeat.”
