Founded around the turn of the millennium by Kristof Bathory, Dawn of Ashes developed from the industrial and aggrotech genres and spread to the black metal and extreme industrial scene. The current album “Infecting the Scars” was released in June via Metropolis Records. With the EP “Reinfecting the Scars”, the sound of Dawn of Ashes is expanded even further by various bands venturing into remixes: “Faith Desecration” was reworked by the dark electro band God Module and the EBM band Frontal Boundary. DJ C-Lekktor took care of “Throne of Misanthropy”, as did the dark drum & base artist Dimensional Dryft. “Hypertensive Crisis” was reinterpreted by the aggrotech band Alien:Nation.
