On their twelfth studio album, Austria’s Edenbridge return to heavier sounds after a poppier phase and present the symphonic power metal that they have helped to shape for two and a half decades. This includes richly orchestrated ballads like “Bonded by the Light” as well as faster songs. Just listen to the title track or the opener “The Ghostship Diaries”. Newcomers should check out these songs, while the fan base won’t be asked twice and will blindly grab them anyway. Special attention should also be paid to the four-part opus “Spark of the Everflame”, which can be found at the end of the album.
