EMMON: Homage to DEPECHE MODE & their youthful selves

Emmon recently released her new album “Icon”. – A self-confident, energetic development of her sound. The song “Shades of Blue”, on the other hand, pulsates as a vulnerable, emotional centerpiece. Emmon explains: “It’s a tribute to my teenage self – a time when I had just fallen passionately in love with alternative and electronic music. It was a time when Depeche Mode, The Cure and The Smiths were constantly playing on my Walkman. As an emotional and searching young person growing up in a small town, I often felt like I didn’t quite fit in. Music became my salvation – a gateway to another world that eventually helped me realize my dreams. In the lyrics of ‘Shades of Blue’, I speak to my inner teenager who felt misunderstood. I’m saying, ‘I see you. It’s going to get better’.”
