Harikiri for the Sky reached number four in the German album charts with their last album “Maere”. A stroke of genius, considering that the Austrians’ mix of post-black metal and hardcore is anything but light fare. The follow-up “Scorched Earth” follows a similar vein, is highly emotional, melancholic and angry at the same time. The two musicians M.S. and J.J. are in the process of conquering the world with their sound. “Scorched Earth” will be another step on the way to the top. Recommended tracks are the opener “Heal Me” and the almost folky “With Autumn I’ll Surrender”.
