In 80 days: WGT! – Review 2023 (part 5)

In 80 days’ time, the next Whitsunday will be here and the WGT 2024 will be in full swing. Until then, let’s take another look back at the 30th Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2023 and we’ve now reached the last day. If you missed the previous parts, click here for part 1.

Whit Monday is always one of those days when on the one hand you want to mobilize your last reserves of energy, and on the other hand you are almost paralysed by the certainty that it will all be over in a few hours. (MLH) In the Felsenkeller, we happily drank in Sündenklang, Heldmaschine and celebrated a thrilling finale with Unzucht. Those who preferred to stay seated in the Schauspielhaus could enjoy Dornenreich, who performed at the same time as Der Fluch, who played in the Täubchenthal. Manntra were completely convincing in the Heidnisches Dorf (CZZ) For others, it was off to the agra exhibition center to party with the guys from Eisfabrik! Many others had the same plan, and so a well-filled hall celebrated the white-clad gentlemen, who left mouths open with a cool light show and fat pyrotechnics. Another scene veteran, who couldn’t have been more worthy of a 30-year anniversary, then really got things booming, and so Front Line Assembly and The Mission brought a fantastic festival weekend to a happy and satisfied conclusion. All in all, it was another brilliant meeting of like-minded people who celebrated in high spirits and it can be assumed that most of them will also be there in 80 days’ time. We certainly do … (FW)
