In 90 days: WGT! – Review 2023 (part 4)

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.
WGT

In 90 days’ time, the next Whitsunday will be here and the WGT 2024 will be in full swing. Until then, let’s take another look back at the 30th Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2023 and we’ve now reached Sunday. If you missed the previous parts, click here for part 1.

Once again, time flew by – somehow everything is faster at Pentecost – and as befits a holy Sunday, this one was dedicated to art. For example, with the atmospheric exhibition of paintings by Annie Bertram in the agra hall. (MLH) The fans crowded into the Felsenkeller as Elvenking heated things up with their folk metal, until Eisregen skillfully set the fire ablaze. Soman electrified the Täubchenthal. (CZZ) A small highlight was about to take place in the Westbad with Empathy Test . Isaac Howlett captivated the audience (despite initial technical resistance) with his mischievous manner and, above all, his unique voice. Still completely radiated, we took the streetcar to agra, where we continued to float on cloud nine. And which bands are more predestined for this than Diary of Dreams and Deine Lakaien? The latter in particular delivered an unforgettable spectacle with their “Dark Star” special, which was balm for the eyes, ears and soul! (MLH)

Those who wanted something even more iconic spent Sunday at the Schauspielhaus. There, German newcomers Pahl!, the British one-man genius on the violin Sieben and finally – as the long queue of people waiting outside might have suggested – Rosa†Crvx took to the stage. The latter also brought a rapturous smile to the faces of those who were less familiar with the French formation. No wonder, with their impressive glockenspiel, the automatic skeleton drum band, the incredibly strong vocals and electric guitars as well as the impressive “Danse de la Terre” performance, all the senses were stimulated. (CZZ)
