Normally, the sun evokes positive associations, but Janus masterfully bypass all of them with “Sonne”. It manifests itself dangerously and devastatingly in “Ich sah die Sonne”: a 10-minute battlefield of emotions, threatening and beautiful sounds and full of madness. The latter is also present in the soundtrack-like chanson-like “All die Geister” with goosebumps guaranteed! Sonne” ends nightmarishly with “Graue Seelen”, which alternates between hard metal riffs and energetic rock elements within its cinematic structure. With “Sonne”, Janus have created an intense album that goes through your bones. We spoke to the duo in our December/January issue.

You can listen to “Sonne” on Bandcamp and of course order it from Knochenhaus . By the way, at the time of our interview we didn’t know that the vinyl company that was supposed to press “Sonne” and “Wurmpalast” would go bankrupt. With an initial fundraising campaign and a rigorous plundering of the merch stand, we have already been able to recoup some of the loss. Remember Christmas and support Janus in the Bone House .
