LAURA SCHEN: Dark electronic sound spheres

Laura Schen opens up dark electronic spheres of sound with her fifth album “11:11”. The title is just as spiritual as the album itself. It is a spiritual awakening that not only emanates from the Italian-born musician, but also spreads to the listener. It represents Laura: “a deep and spiritual journey of connection,” she explains and continues: “That’s why it’s a very special moment for me, also because of my long absence from the stage.”
And indeed, for five years we have hardly heard anything from Laura Schen. All the more beautiful and powerful she reaches us with “11:11”. The centerpiece of the album is “Destination Love”, which “perhaps best represents the actual essence of the album”, says the artist. “Ultimately, the answer is love everywhere and in every direction! But beware, this doesn’t just mean romantic love between two people, but first and foremost love for oneself and everything that surrounds us. Life is difficult in itself and presents us with obstacles. That is why it is important to find love in everything we do and everything that surrounds us, in the words we say and in our gestures. This song is indeed a ritual, like all the songs on the album. You can hear that in the intense use of drum machines that I’ve employed … a shamanic sound.”
Laura Schen is planning live performances in the future. “I really miss the magical adrenaline energy that I only find on stage. That’s why I’m ready to perform live again.”
