LUMSK: Nordic Melancholy

Lumsk also took a personal approach to the production of “Einsemda”—which is set to be released on October 30, 2026—with most of the album recorded in the band members’ home studios. Vocals, organ, piano, and additional guitars, however, were recorded at Autumnsongs Recording Studio. Together with Rhys Marsh, Espen W. Godø, and Espen Hammer, Lumsk worked intensively on the production and mix to capture both the intimacy and the musical weight of the poems. The band describes the lyrics by Norwegian poet Tor Jonsson (1916–1951) as deeply emotional and did not want to tone down this intensity in any way, but rather to bring them fully to life musically. Thus, “Einsemda” combines a personal atmosphere with Lumsk’s signature blend of folk, progressive metal, and Nordic melancholy.
