LUMSK: Poetry Between Hope and Despair
SPONSORED POST

The Norwegian folk/prog band Lumsk is back with their new album, “Einsemda,” which will be released on October 30, 2026. On the album, they explore selected poems by the Norwegian poet Tor Jonsson (1916–1951). Following their acclaimed comeback with “Fremmede Toner,” they further develop their signature blend of progressive metal, folk rock, and Nordic storytelling. Jonsson’s texts are characterized by linguistic clarity and intense emotionality, repeatedly exploring contrasts such as hope and despair, closeness and distance, or life and death. For Lumsk, his poetry thus provided an ideal foundation for further amplifying the emotional tension of the poems through music. The result is set to be a dark, atmospheric album that makes the vulnerability and beauty of the source material immediately tangible.
