MARIA SOMERVILLE: Ethereal sound for dreaming

The atmospheric single “Garden” is a wonderful precursor to the new album “Luster”, which is expected on April 25. Here, too, Maria Somerville succeeds in creating an intoxicating mixture of wave, slowcoe and shoegaze, reminiscent of Cocteau Twins or This Mortal Coil. “Garden” bathes her siren-like vocals in a sound of buzzing feedback, airy percussion and nostalgic guitars.
