Exactly 5 years ago to the day, Marilyn Manson’s single “The End” was released on November 22, 2019. Did you already know these 5 facts?
★ Marilyn Manson recorded a cover version of The Doors‘ “The End” for the soundtrack of the mini-series “The Stand”. However, due to the series’ low budget, the song was not used.
★ The artwork was painted by Manson himself with watercolors.
★ Originally, “The End” was also supposed to be released on vinyl. However, there were legal differences that prevented this.
★ “The End” is not the first song that Marilyn Manson has covered by The Doors: “Five to One” – which appeared on the single “Disposable Teens” (2000) – as well as “Love Me Two Times”, “People Are Strange” (2012) and “Not to Touch the Earth” (2016), all three of which were only performed live.
★ “The End” by Marilyn Manson reached number 9 in the US charts.
