MERCURY’S ANTENNAE: Atmospheric shoegaze from Portland, Oregon

Seven years after the release of their EP “The Moon Viewing Garden”, Mercury’s Antennae are drawing attention to themselves again with their latest work “Among the Black Trees”. Nine existential tales populate a ghostly realm of reflection, rebirth and reconciliation, layered with dense bass, swirling ghost guitars and atmospheric electronics, all fused with glossy and soaring vocal melodies. Erick R. Scheid explains that in a way, this is a concept album in which love, death, rebirth and reconciliation are brought into the imaginary landscape of the unseen world sonically and emotionally in the music.
