MISSIO: An Exciting Dark-Pop Crossover

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.

Missio is releasing their sixth studio album, “Love & Heartbreak,” today. The story behind its creation is fascinating in itself: most of the recordings were made in various Airbnb accommodations around the world. Musically, Matthew Brue and David Butler draw inspiration from their early work without copying it. The result is a cinematic, expansive sound that blends dark pop elements with somber electronic sounds—crossover dark pop from Texas. Thematically, “Love & Heartbreak” is exactly about that, as Matthew explains: “Every person on this planet has experienced love and heartbreak. I wasn’t in a relationship for a long time because I focused entirely on the band’s success for many years. This album reflects on my most recent relationship and the profound emotions that come with being in love.”
