With “Love & Heartbreak,” Missio is releasing their sixth album. Musically, the versatile duo from Texas blends dark, pop-inspired elements with brooding electronic sounds. Add a dash of alternative rock, and you’ve got an explosive mix: crossover dark pop. Across 14 tracks, the Texans manage to surprise the listener time and again. Both vocally and musically. Sometimes they incorporate spoken word or weave in industrial elements. Although no two songs are alike, each one bears the unmistakable Missio stamp. Thematically—as the title suggests—it’s all about love and relationships, and their downfall.
