NATHANAEL: Inner turmoil in the shadow dance?

As the fourth and last single release from their debut album “Des Wahnsinns Methode”, Nathanael present “Schattentanz”. Singer Dennis explains how personal the lyrics of this track are: “I wrote the lyrics at a time when I was emotionally torn between two people. To make a long story short: My girlfriend at the time and I had an open relationship. It worked well in the beginning, but due to poor communication when it came to feelings towards other people, it got complicated. I fell in love, was caught between two stools and hurt people who were incredibly important to me. It is precisely this feeling of inner turmoil, intimate love, and the realization of the failure of myself that are the themes I worked through in ‘Schattentanz’. It’s both a plea to love for rescue from this situation, the sweet hope for a better future, and a farewell song to what once was.”
