It’s an interesting idea: Nattradio composed and recorded all the songs on “The Longest Night” between one and five in the morning to create the perfect atmosphere. Musically, the sound is somewhere between gothic rock and doom metal, with great parallels to Katatonia in particular. And not only because of Martin Boman’s voice, which is strongly reminiscent of Jonas Renkse. Night owls can let songs like “Shadow Speaker”, “Dark Streets” or “Shifting Baseline” accompany them leisurely through the sleepless darkness and perhaps gain completely new insights into the darkest hours.
