From the sound alone, Nero Doctrine would have to be from Sweden, as they are based on early In Flames, Darkane or Dark Tranquillity. On their EP “Daughter of the Sea”, which is to be followed by two more, the Greifswald band deal with the birth, life and demise of the earth. Underpinned by blast beats and cutting riffs, the guys set a decent pace, but also know when to slow down a little. Songs like the title track or “Of Moon and Waters” should win over fans of the aforementioned bands. They certainly sound authentic.
