With “New Year’s Face”, Nick & June create an intimate yet expansive universe of sound. After a long relationship, Suzie-Lou Kraft and Nick Wolf collaborate on piano, guitars and synths to create ten songs that are vulnerable, poetic and robust at the same time. The production fuses indie folk, dream pop and alternative rock into a sensual space in which voices and instruments glide into one another like fleeting memories. From the eponymous opener to the orchestral finale “Husband & Wife”, the album tells of love, loss, memory and self-discovery – fragile, powerful and deeply human.
