On Stage: AND ONE

Anyone who thought that the atmosphere at the And One concert in Stuttgart’s Wizemann in front of around 750 people was already boiling could never have imagined that this could be topped again the following evening in Munich. It was. Almost 1,000 fans gathered backstage and celebrated with indescribable exuberance and energy.
But let’s start at the beginning: Rroyce warmed up the crowd appropriately with their 45-minute live set. Singer Casi deliberately sought contact with the audience, but also interacted with his bandmates Al and Kay. During “Run Run Run” there was finally no stopping Casi and he threw himself into the crowd of listeners, who performed the song together with him, which worked well despite the cramped conditions. The emotional highlight was certainly the comparatively calm “Who Needs”, while all the other songs mainly encouraged dancing.

After the electrifying performance, the heavy curtain was raised and the first sounds of “Love Needs a Saving Hand” rang out. By the second half of the song at the latest, everything was set to “party”, which was further intensified in the following songs “Fake of Pleasure” and “Für”. Like a whirlwind, mastermind Steve Naghavi ran around the stage from left to right and right to left, dancing and serving up refreshing anecdotes between tracks.
After “Shouts of Joy” came the big announcement: A new And One album is planned for the end of July 2024. The single “Atomic Bomb”, which will be released on January 26, provides a first insight into the new record. What a sound! With Joke Jay, Steve naturally performed “Technoman”, which went down particularly well with the audience. Even during the quieter pieces such as “Love Needs a Saving Hand”, Steve was full of energy and dynamism. The second encore block was also followed by minutes of thunderous applause until, after the two-hour set, the exhausted but extremely happy fans gradually made their way back.
