“The Young Inspector Morse” captivated an average of up to 10 million viewers per episode in the UK. Worldwide, his fan base is estimated at 750 million. He has long since become a legend and is practically part of British cultural heritage. The charismatic English actor Shaun Evans has played a major part in its success, mastering the development of the young, inexperienced Detective Sergeant Endeavour Morse into the embittered old inspector scarred by life (and alcohol) with flying colors. Despite initial fears as to whether the fans would perceive the Morse prequel as sacrilege, Evans was the perfect ideal cast, which even prompted Morse inventor Colin Dexter to stipulate in his will that Shaun Evans would indeed be the last Morse.
The complete works of “The Young Inspector Morse” will be released on November 21, 2025. That means: 22 DVDs + bonus material via Edel Motion!
