L’0nde N0IRe: Aggrotech vs. Positive Energy?
L’0nde N0IRe from Greece is known for Aggrotech with a dark, futuristic edge. From their latest album, “Tech N0ir,” the song “Therapy!” in particular gives us goosebumps. This pleases the artist, as that was exactly his intention. He explains: “It’s an ironic and deeply sarcastic track about the psychiatrization of everything.” He uses psychological and psychiatric terms in the lyrics to deconstruct them, while simultaneously suggesting that this so-called ‘therapy’ might be anything but therapeutic—and ultimately leads to ‘Pain’ and ‘Trauma,’ the two tracks that follow. It’s a very dark track—so dark that the majority of Spotify playlist curators I sent it to rejected it. They seem to be constantly looking for ‘positive energy.’ (grins) At the same time, it’s extremely danceable. Personally, I consider it one of the best tracks on the album and would love to see it become an underground club track. Hopefully, one day I’ll see people dancing to “Therapy!” in a club and someone will send me the video. That would make me very happy.”
