MYRNA LOY – “Time Says Helay”

Experimental, driving and wild
MYRNA LOY
“Time Says Helay“
Album (Lost Albums)
Driving, calm, wild, experimental – Myrna Loy’ s second album “Time Says Helay”, released in 1991, is both lively and unique. After the Bonn-based band released their debut album from 1990 digitally for the first time at the end of last year, the completely remastered second work now follows. It opens with the spherical “Hello, I Love the Way You Smell”. The title track is particularly haunting, while “Rot” has an almost sacred quality. Even this short excerpt shows the range of a band that cannot be pigeonholed from the very beginning. Ambient? Dark Wave? Rock? Alternative pop? Somehow everything applies, but nothing comes close to describing the individuality of Myna Loy. In addition to the ten album tracks, 13 (!) bonus tracks provide further interesting insights into the band’s history. The extremely intense live tracks in particular show the individual preparation for the live performance, which of course differs from the album versions. There are also demo and quiet dub mixes that round off the listening experience and leave nothing to be desired.
