BZFOS: Enjoyable horror post-punk

Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space will release their new album “Blood Is for Suckers” on February 6, 2026. – And in various bundles that are already available in advance and only in limited form. In addition to vinyl in various colors and a bloody bag, there is also a candle and matches or cassettes, for example. Mastermind Richy is not only the singer, but also the creative mind behind the band’s artwork: “I just love packaging and gimmicks – the old VHS covers were one of the reasons why I started collecting, and I try to incorporate this passion into the band as much as possible. The vampire on the cover has a candle in his hand, and when I was designing the back cover I immediately had the idea: it would be cool if we sold a candle with the album. Then I added the matches, and the back cover and the bundle idea were finished. I’m a big fan of collector’s editions myself, but it only really makes sense to me if there’s a cohesive concept rather than just some random fridge magnet or something.”
“Blood Is for Suckers” is also available in cassette format. What does he still find exciting about it today? “Pure 80ies! The portrait format makes the cover design similar to VHS again. It also requires a bit of dedication if you really want to listen to the tape. I still have a radio with a cassette deck in my car and sometimes I’m happy to pop in my old mixtapes from the nineties.”
