When Dennis set about writing lyrics for Nathanel, “it quickly became apparent that our band was going to be about strong emotions that at times drifted into madness.” Literature is also very important to Nathanael, and so E.T.A. Hoffmann’s “Der Sandmann” influenced the choice of the band’s name. “The subject matter of ‘Der Sandmann’ and the portrayal of the main character’s mental states, somewhere between excessive love, looming abyss and manic circle of fire, was therefore a perfect fit for us.” The debut album “Des Wahnsinns Methode” will be released on 13 October 2023. Until then, you can already convince yourself of the two singles “Nathanael” and “Kompass auf Herz”. The music of Nathanael can best be described as Victorian Metal for fans of Coppelius, incorporating the passion of an ASPstorytelling as well as the dark romanticism of Janus or the wild Folk-Medieval Rock style of Subway to Sally.
