BAUHAUS: Where does the band name come from?

If you look at the original name of BAUHAUS, you will quickly recognize the actual namesake: Bauhaus 1919, a school of art and design that was founded in 1919. Why did Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins decide on such a band name? Clearly, all four of them studied art. David J explained the choice based on the “stylistic implications and associations”. The band’s font is the same one that was used for the Bauhaus building in Dessau.
