PIRATE QUEEN: enchant and plunder!

Automatic translation. Improvements are constantly being worked on.
Pirate Queen

“… and continues the tradition of her ancestors: to enchant and plunder.”

2 Facts:
– Pirate Queen came together in 2023 and combine music and LARP in their live shows.
– The capital of their pirate kingdom, Lyxion, is a mystical floating island in the Bermuda Triangle. In real life, the musicians come from Great Britain and Spain.

Women to power

Until now, bands such as Alestorm and Storm Seeker have mainly been up to mischief on the world’s oceans, but now Pirate Queen is the first all-female pirate metal band to enter the scene – and is ready to board. “For us, female pirates embody freedom and adventure and are therefore a great theme for a metal band,” explains captain Destiny Grieflord, one of the band’s two guitarists. The fearless crew is commanded by Pirate Queen Maria Aurea: “Her Majesty is our leader and is responsible for the lyrics and composing most of the symphonic parts of the songs,” reports Captain Destiny. “In the old nautical chronicles, there is talk of a time when a group of five women will come together. These are descendants of famous pirates and united by the gift of piracy. Some were born in this world, others were sent from other worlds, all serve their queen loyally. She has taken command in the godless year 2023 and continues the tradition of her ancestors: to enchant and plunder,” Destiny says with a wink. “My favorite weapon is the axe, as you can easily see from my guitars.” Also on board are bassist Luna Lyss Shin – “she is descended from sirens and has a beautiful voice that can be heard in “Sirens Tears” – as well as drummer Raindrop Oceanus, who sets the course, and guitarist Victoria Pearl Fata-Morgana, who roams the world as a ghost.

Of ghosts & sunrises

Speaking of ghosts: the quintet’s debut album is entitled “Ghosts” and the video for the title track was appropriately filmed in a very special hotel: “The Insomnia Hotel has a horror theme and each room is a different escape room,” Destiny reveals delightedly. “However, it was a mistake to shoot the video for ‘Pirates from the Sea’ directly in the morning after our film session in the hotel. We only had a few hours’ sleep because we wanted to capture the sunrise on the beach in Barcelona and avoid the heat of the day. The result is impressive, but I still ended up with a heat stroke.”
