“This Search for Meaning” is more than just the title of the Placebo documentary. For Brian Molko, music is self-therapy – a means of explaining the world to himself, finding a place, creating a connection. Filmed in the style of fixed surveillance cameras, the interviews seem like fragments of permanent observation. Artist friends such as Yungblud or Robbie Williams have no idea that their phone calls are being recorded.
