PLACEBO on crows, 30 years of the band’s history, and the new-old album

Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal make up the band that has given generations of outsiders a sense of belonging. And Molko himself is one of those rare figures in the music business where you’re not quite sure whether you’re talking to a rock star, a philosophy professor, or a poet. We spoke by phone with the 53-year-old Placebo singer—who was born in Belgium, grew up in Luxembourg, lived in London for many years, and now calls a secret location somewhere in continental Europe home—about crows, three decades of the band’s history, the new-old album “Placebo Re:Created,” and the art of not losing hope. You can read all about it in our July/August issue.
