SEX PISTOLS: Where does the band name come from?

They could have been called Le Bomb, Subterraneans, Beyond, Teenage Novel, Kid Gladlove or Crème de la Crème. In the end, SEX PISTOLS was chosen. Why? Manager Malcolm McLaren had an alternative boutique with Vivienne Westwood on the King’s Road called SEX. He later said that the name came from “the idea of a gun, a pin-up, a young thing, a sexy assassin”. He “started the idea in the form of a band of kids who wanted to be perceived as evil.”
