SISTER MAY: Industrial rock meets grunge

Things are getting louder, faster and harder in this world. Sister May think so too, taking this as a source of inspiration to present their concept album “VII”. The songs deal with longing, distortion, conflict, rupture, repetition, self-reflection and rebirth. – On several levels: personal, social and systematic. Musically, the Belgians of Syster May go in the direction of industrial rock, which also skillfully interweaves nineties grunge elements. According to the band, the song “Shadows” is “a reflection on a world that is breaking up, changing and becoming more and more intense – about identity, pressure, longing and the attempt to find meaning in a time when everything is accelerating and falling apart at the same time.” Find out more in our May/June issue.
