STITCHED UP HEART: Heart for breakfast?
With “Cannibal”, STITCHED UP HEART from Los Angeles recently released a brand new single. A special treat: frontwoman Alecia ‘Mixi’ Demner combines her characteristic voice with that of Heidi Shepherd (BUTCHER BABIES)! Mixi explains: “Cannibal” is a song for all man-eaters; for all the bad guys who steal hearts and eat them for breakfast.”
She says of her collaboration with Heidi: “I was at the very first BUTCHER BABIES show. We were crowded on the steps of a dive on the Sunset Strip. Heidi threw this torn Barbie into the crowd. Her hair cut off, completely shredded. I caught her. Looking back on that moment, it felt like she handed me a torch. ‘Hey girl, let’s conquer this industry together’. Years later, we’re still at it, cheering each other on from the sidelines. Collaborating on this song is such a fulfilling moment.”
Heidi Shepherd adds: “I’ve been a big fan of Mixi and STITCHED UP HEART for almost two decades. We’ve fought our way up in this industry together and stood up for each other when no one else would. After all these years, it’s so fitting that ‘Cannibal’ is the song we can finally SHOUT together! You can tell from the video that we had so much fun making it.
