With their second album, *The Nocturnes of Iswylm*, Stormkeep reveal not just music, but a multifaceted story. This story began with *Tales of the Otherworld* (2021). Their own fantasy universe unfolds in the epic opener “The Taste of Immortal Blood,” and “The Black Dragons of Iswylm” is depicted in all its cruelty and darkness. Musically, there’s no holding back on “Saccharine Subjugation”: a pitch-black black metal song that stares back at you like a silent abyss, stealing your soul in the process. Across the seven tracks, Stormkeep skillfully maintain a balance between intensity and harmony.
