The wishes of Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones have come true. After “Electronic Music Improvisations Volume 1” follows part 2 – and it is audibly different. Post-processing of the improvisations is kept to a minimum, evoking the feeling of literally watching Miller and Jones improvise. The character of the pieces is reflected in the titles. For example, parts of “July #1” are reminiscent of ocean sounds, while “January #1” and “January #2” coherently capture the winter month. Like its predecessor, however, this is not a work for the sidelines. But to listen attentively. And that’s what makes it so special.
