Bittersweet is what remains after a final farewell. In the EP “Bittersweet”, Tally Spear deals with the death of her father and finds words that will touch anyone who has lost a loved one. The melancholy is clothed in grueling alternative pop with plenty of rock moments. Tally’s beautiful, clear voice comforts the listener over the thoughtless lyrics and the rousing sound does the rest. Together with Tally Spear, the listener works their way through the sadness, the associated lostness and questions about their own existence until the EP ends with the motivating title track.
