THE MEMORY OF SNOW – “Inside”
Thought-provoking, hypnotic cold wave
THE MEMORY OF SNOW
“Inside”
Album (Meridian Noir Records)
Gloomy, timeless, hypnotic: “Inside” draws you in. The Memory of Snow creates a dense soundscape where cold wave and driving post-punk converge. The narrative is just as deep as it is dark: We look over the shoulder of investigator Jonas Stern as he tries to solve the murder of a young girl. In the process, he takes us deep “Inside”—into the killer’s dark inner world—and uncovers sinister abysses. To prevent this from sinking into leaden heaviness, mastermind Albin Wagener sprinkles a subtle pinch of dream pop over it—lending the darkness a lightness that makes the revelation not only bearable but irresistible.
