The Stranglers released “Written in Red” 29 years ago on January 27, 1997. Did you already know these 5 facts?
★ The release party took place back in December at Disneyland Paris and included live performances of some of the new tracks: “Always the Sun”, “Golden Brown” and “Let Me Introduce You to the Family”.
★ In the week of the release, the Brits also toured various branches of the HMV music store chain, for example in Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds.
★ The album cover is the only one in which the typical band logo was not used.
★ Co-producer was Andy Gill from Gang of Four.
★ “Written in Red” is the 13th studio album by The Stranglers
