This was the case at SUMMER BREEZE (1/2) with ASP, WITHIN TEMPTATION, IN EXTREMO, DIMMU BORGIR and many more.

August 13-16, 2025, Dinkelsbühl
At the end of August, summer really stepped on the gas once again. Summer Breeze 2025 once again offered an energetic and varied line-up and, in addition to the perfect organization, provided many happy moments for the almost 45,000 fans. The weather played along, even if the heatwave of around 35° C on the first days of the festival demanded all the energy reserves from everyone involved. Nevertheless, this hellish heat generated a merciless energy in the audience and among the bands.
On Wednesday, The Halo Effect provided the first big demolition after the opening. Even though every pore was sweating, there was no shortage of fire, as In Extremo used the evening hours for their energetic show full of pyros and drums. Medieval instruments met driving metal riffs, while the audience sang and danced along exuberantly. Afterwards, Dimmu Borgir also provided a visually stunning stage performance. The dark sounds of the Norwegians caused goosebumps more than once. At the same time, Sólstafir enchanted the audience on the T-Stage with a pensive, melancholy mood on stage. With atmospheric soundscapes and epic guitar passages, the Icelanders created an unforgettable atmosphere. ASP, on the other hand, tore up the Main Stage once again. After a 13-year absence from Summer Breeze, the band provided a very intense and, for ASP, unusually hard night concert with plenty of fire.
The heat of the last few days was also going to take its toll on Thursday. The thermometer was already between 30 and 34 degrees at midday, so many people stayed in their camps. However, Elvenking were not deterred by this. The power folk metal enchanted the first brave souls on the infield, and the atmosphere was cooled down with the help of water cooling from the Grabenschlampen (the band’s own Graben security). Schattenmann unfortunately didn’t bring any shade with them either, but were able to impress with a good show and celebrated with pyros, fog, CO2 cannons and the fans. Ensiferum kept the energy level high and delivered a rousing show with fast-paced riffs, epic choruses and plenty of sing-along moments, transforming the infield into an exuberant Viking feast. Pure escalation followed directly afterwards with Mr. Hurley & die Pulveraffen, who caused a real demolition in front of the Main Stage. The Grabenschlampen were allowed to sweat as the fans surfed the crowd in a continuous loop. Within Temptation later convinced as co-headliners with a lot of depth, charisma and a grandiose wall of sound that left everyone in attendance in raptures. As usual, Sharon enchanted everyone with her stage presence and enthusiasm. Things got a lot quieter and more atmospheric late in the evening with Cult of Luna. A glance at the stage only gave a glimpse of the musicians, as there was no light on stage. But you didn’t miss anything if you closed your eyes and swayed along with the music, which many people did. (Text: Birger Treimer)
