A lot has happened since Tvinna’s debut “One – In the Dark” was released at the beginning of 2021. Co-founder Fiona Rüggeberg and producer Fieke van den Hurk are no longer on board, but new colleagues and talented guests are. This is another reason why Tvinna make a subtle course correction on “Two – Wings of Ember”: the extreme folk influence of the early days has given way to rockier, more progressive tones in many places. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of folk passages, such as in the hypnotic “Louga”, which Laura performs as a duet with Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie). Other highlights are the emotional “Dawn of Mine” and “Fortress”.
