WATER FROM YOUR EYES about time, dinosaurs and outer space

On August 22, 2025, Water from Your Eyes will release their new album entitled “It’s a Beautiful Place”. The New York duo sums it up succinctly: “In the end, it’s about time, dinosaurs and outer space.” It was important to them to incorporate “a wide range of styles” “in a way that makes it clear that everything is just a brief flare-up”, says Nate Amos, who is the second half of the music project alongside Rachel Brown.

The indie pop band philosophizes further: “A song can feel like anything, convey a huge emotional panorama. But your favorite album is less important than any human being. And that person is less interesting than any dinosaur. And the dinosaur is less important than any mountain. And this mountain is absolutely boring compared to a planet. And this planet is only part of a solar system. And this solar system is microscopic compared to a galaxy. But if music and human practices are completely meaningless on a cosmic level – why does it all still feel so important?”
